Europe in a Blur

2024

This photographic series explores the intersection of architecture, memory, and visual abstraction through a collection of intentionally blurred black-and-white images of European structures. By rejecting traditional modes of architectural photography—clarity, symmetry, and documentation—the project reframes these monuments not as static artifacts, but as living symbols shaped by time, perception, and loss.

The lack of focus is intentionally used as a methodology to echo the imprecision of memory: the way history distorts and fades with emotional clarity. These structures, once definitive in their cultural or political significance, are rendered ghostly—present, yet elusive.
