Syria's Future
2025
On December 8th, 2024, the Syrian rebel group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) successfully overthrew the regime of Bashar al-Assad, ending a 54-year dictatorship marked by war, oppression, and widespread devastation.
Now, questions loom over the new government's ability to rebuild the nation—but the deeper question remains: who will be the ones to drive and experience real, lasting change?
Four months after the fall of Assad’s regime, I traveled to Syria, embarking on a journey through landscapes shaped by both destruction and resilience. The atmosphere felt fresh, almost reborn, as locals spoke with cautious optimism about Syria’s future.
This project seeks to document the true agents of change in this emerging chapter: the children of Syria. Through their eyes, I explore a nation caught between the scars of war and the hope of renewal.
